Meet Josh Brewer

What’s standing between the status quo and growth? A small step beyond what’s comfortable and what’s assumed. As the curious one of the bunch, Josh helps clients and coworkers take those small steps by asking why at least 5 times and by identifying the opportunities in every root cause.

Prior to his time at 502, Josh has worked in rural communications and for clients in food value chains, but is happy to bring a curious approach to any industry, usually prefaced by a smile and “let me ask a stupid question.”

Fun Facts / Biography

Josh grew up in the Ouachita Mountains outside of Hot Springs, Arkansas and attended Duke University, where he studied Evolutionary Biology and English while running track and cross country. After college, Josh studied prose writing and taught undergraduate composition courses in Marquette, Michigan, receiving a Master of Fine Arts from Northern Michigan University.

Josh moved to Kansas to work as an editor for Mother Earth News and Grit magazines, then founded and directed an agency services division at their parent company. He’s worked with national tractor, implement, and automotive companies, live-streamed chicks hatching on his desk, and lived in a van down by Lake Superior. Josh is a writer, an editor and a marketing strategist. He believes in the value of every person and every place, and that the two are inseparable.
