Meet Topanga McBride

Like most industries, the agricultural space is full of industry jargon and there are a lot of misconceptions. Luckily, Topanga has a knack for translating industry knowledge, relating personal experiences, and focusing on the facts at hand.

Topanga specializes in understanding the needs and experiences of those in the agricultural space and communicating the value of all those who contribute to our global food system. Across industries, clients and coworkers are quickly impressed with her research skills and innovative solutions to business challenges. For Topanga, getting to the root cause of a problem and understanding a client’s needs are all a part of making their vision a reality.

Fun Facts / Biography

On Topanga’s first day of high school in Fort Collins, Colorado, she quickly made friends by bringing a slab of bacon from her hog, Walter. Growing up on a hobby farm, Topanga showed Milking Shorthorns in 4-H for 11 years and was proud to exhibit the Colorado State Fair Supreme Champion cow. She built a Tumblr following for her agriculture-themed blog and received a double major in agricultural communications and journalism and agricultural economics at Kansas State University. She’s held internships at The Staley School of Leadership Studies at Kansas State University, Look East, the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Monsanto (now Bayer) and worked as the outreach assistant at Agriculture Future of America.

Topanga is a baker who’s known for variations on the chocolate chip cookie, a tuba player who has played in 6 different countries, a friend who gives solid advice, and a coworker who brings focus and clarity to the problem at hand.
